Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about our research catalogue, product documentation, ordering, payments, delivery and support.
General & Product Information
Peptides are short chains of amino acids joined by peptide bonds. They are widely used as research tools in areas such as analytical chemistry, cell biology, biochemistry and pharmaceutical development.
The exact sequence, molecular weight, quantity and available documentation for each product should be checked on its individual product page.
No. Products in the research catalogue are supplied strictly for laboratory, analytical and in-vitro research use. They are not medicines, food supplements, cosmetics or products for human or veterinary administration.
No. We do not provide dosage schedules, injection instructions, personal protocols or advice about using research products on people or animals.
Researchers should follow their approved laboratory procedures, institutional safety rules and the applicable product documentation.
Lyophilised means freeze-dried. During lyophilisation, water is removed from the material under controlled low-temperature and reduced-pressure conditions, leaving a dry powder or cake.
The appearance may range from a compact disc to a light film or loose powder, depending on the compound and manufacturing process.
Milligram quantities are very small. A vial containing a few milligrams may show only a thin film, small cake or light dusting at the bottom of a standard glass vial.
Visual appearance is not a reliable method of confirming the quantity. Check the product label and available analytical documentation.
Small cosmetic differences can occur between batches, including cake shape, powder distribution, cap colour and label position. These differences do not automatically indicate a quality issue.
Do not use a product if the vial is cracked, the seal is damaged or there is visible contamination. Contact us with clear photographs and your order number.
Some research compounds may contain an excipient such as mannitol to support the freeze-drying process and improve the visibility or stability of the finished cake.
Where this information is available, it will be stated on the product page or supporting documentation. Contact us before ordering where an excipient could affect your research method.
Bacteriostatic water is a laboratory mixing solution containing sterile water and a preservative. The exact composition and volume are shown on the product label and product page.
It is supplied as a separate research ancillary and is not intended for human or veterinary administration.
Follow the storage instructions shown on the product label and product page. As a general precaution, keep vials sealed, protected from direct light, moisture and excessive temperature changes.
Allow a chilled sealed vial to reach room temperature before opening where this is required by your laboratory procedure, helping to reduce condensation inside the vial.
Product images are representative mock-ups. Label layout, cap colour, vial shape and packaging may change without affecting the stated product specification.
The product name, stated quantity and order confirmation should be used to identify the item supplied.
Quality & Documentation
A Certificate of Analysis, or CoA, summarises the analytical information available for a product. Depending on the product and supplier documentation, this may include identity, molecular information, appearance, purity and relevant test methods.
Where documentation is available for public download, it will be linked from the relevant product page. Some documents may be provided on request.
Contact us with the product name, quantity and order reference where you cannot locate the document you need.
High-performance liquid chromatography, commonly called HPLC, separates the components in a sample. It is frequently used to estimate the proportion of the target peptide relative to other peptide-related material.
Mass spectrometry measures the mass-to-charge ratio of molecules and can be used to support confirmation of molecular identity. HPLC and mass spectrometry provide different information and are often used together.
Purity describes the proportion of the target compound relative to related material detected by the stated analytical method.
Quantity describes the nominal amount placed in the vial. A purity percentage is not the same as the stated vial quantity.
Usually not reliably. Differences in the weight of the glass vial, stopper, seal, label and residual moisture can be greater than the mass of the research material itself.
Analytical methods and controlled manufacturing records are more appropriate than weighing a sealed retail vial.
Not necessarily. The document type and whether it relates to an individual batch should be clearly identified on the document or product page.
Do not assume that a generic product specification is a batch-specific report. Contact us where your work requires batch-level documentation.
Do not open or use the product. Photograph the vial, label, outer packaging and any enclosed paperwork, then contact us with your order number so we can investigate.
No. Research outcomes depend on experimental design, equipment, handling, storage, concentration, controls and many other variables.
Product supply does not constitute a guarantee that a particular assay, method or experiment will produce a specific result.
Yes. Researchers may arrange their own independent testing where required for their work. Keep the vial sealed and follow the testing laboratory’s sampling and submission requirements.
Ordering & Payment
Select the required products, add them to the basket and complete the guest checkout. Check the product, quantity, delivery address and email address carefully before submitting the order.
No. British Juice uses guest checkout, so you can place an order without registering or creating a customer account.
Bank transfer and supported cryptocurrency payments may be offered. Card or PayPal payment will only be available where the relevant option is displayed at checkout.
The payment methods shown at checkout are the current available methods for that order.
Payment availability can depend on gateway status, order value, technical maintenance and the provider’s own rules. A payment method is not available unless it is actively displayed during checkout.
An order acknowledgement confirms that we have received the order request. Fulfilment remains subject to cleared payment, stock availability, accurate delivery information and any necessary order checks.
An order may be held while we confirm payment, stock, delivery details or other information. We may contact you using the email address or telephone number supplied at checkout.
Do not send sensitive identity documents unless we have specifically requested them through an agreed secure method.
Contact us as soon as possible with the order number. We can usually amend or cancel an order before dispatch, but changes cannot be guaranteed once packing or carrier processing has started.
Contact us with the order number, payment date, amount and the reference actually used. Do not make a second payment unless we ask you to do so.
Unless a minimum is stated at checkout, there is no minimum product value. Delivery charges and any free-delivery threshold are calculated in the basket or checkout.
Orders are intended for the purchaser’s own legitimate research requirements. We do not automatically authorise resale, relabelling or redistribution.
Contact us before placing any order intended for commercial redistribution.
Shipping & Delivery
We currently supply delivery addresses within the United Kingdom only. An order submitted for an unsupported destination may be cancelled and refunded.
Available tracked delivery services are shown at checkout. The specific carrier and service may vary according to destination, parcel size, value and operational requirements.
Standard recorded delivery is currently £8 for orders below £250. Delivery is free when the qualifying basket value exceeds £250, unless a different charge is shown at checkout.
Orders are normally processed on working days after cleared payment and any required checks. Orders placed during weekends, bank holidays or outside the daily processing window will be handled on the next available working day.
Where a tracked service is used, the tracking reference will be sent to the email address supplied at checkout after the parcel has been accepted by the carrier.
Check your junk or spam folder if the dispatch email is not visible.
Vials are protected against movement and impact and placed inside plain outer packaging. Product descriptions are not displayed prominently on the outside of the parcel.
Packaging may vary according to the size and contents of the order.
Transport requirements vary by product. Follow the product-specific storage information once the parcel is received.
Normal postal transit is not the same as long-term storage. Refrigerate or otherwise store the product promptly where its label requires this.
Check the carrier tracking page first. Carrier scans can be delayed during busy periods, severe weather, bank holidays or network disruption.
Contact us with your order number if the expected delivery window has passed and the tracking has not provided a useful update.
Contact us immediately. We may be able to correct the address before dispatch. Once the parcel has entered the carrier network, alteration or redirection may not be possible.
The customer is responsible for checking the address before confirming the order.
We will contact you after the returned parcel has been received and inspected. Resending may require a further delivery charge where the return resulted from an incorrect address, refusal or failure to collect.
Returns, Damage & Missing Parcels
Photograph the outer packaging, internal packaging, label and damaged item before disposing of anything. Contact us promptly with the order number and photographs so we can assess the issue and, where appropriate, make a carrier claim.
Check all protective packaging carefully, then contact us with the order number, a description of the issue and clear photographs of everything received.
Do not open an incorrect item while the issue is being investigated.
Contact us after the expected delivery period has passed. We will review the tracking and, where required, open an investigation with the carrier.
A replacement or refund is considered after the carrier process and the circumstances of the order have been assessed.
Contact us before sending anything back. Return eligibility depends on the product, its condition, storage requirements, dispatch status and your applicable statutory rights.
Unauthorised returns may not be accepted.
For safety, integrity and traceability reasons, products that have been opened, unsealed, mixed, damaged after delivery or stored incorrectly may not be suitable for resale and may not be eligible for a discretionary return.
This does not affect any statutory rights that apply to faulty or misdescribed goods.
Approved refunds are normally returned through the original payment method where technically possible. Bank processing times vary and are outside our control after a refund has been issued.
Cryptocurrency values can move between the order date and refund date. Any eligible refund will be handled according to the terms shown for the cryptocurrency payment method and the GBP value of the approved refund.
Contact support before sending cryptocurrency to any address not generated through the official checkout process.
Use the contact page or reply to the order email. Include your order number, the email address used at checkout and a clear explanation of the issue.
Never publish order numbers, delivery details or payment information in a public review or social-media post.
